UPBEAT is a fun and welcoming class for singers in Kindergarten through 2nd grade, where children are introduced to the joy of group singing in a playful and supportive environment.

In UPBEAT, children develop confidence and musical skills through games, stories, and movement. Our energetic teachers lead students in fun activities that help them learn to match pitch, sing tunefully, and enjoy the process of making music together.

This class is designed to build a strong musical foundation, allowing children to explore music in a way that’s fun, joyful, and age-appropriate.

 "Upbeat" is for singers who are ready to…
‍
- Try your best and have fun learning and singing!
- Use kind words and actions—we are a team and support each other!
- Listen and follow directions from the teacher during instruction.
- Participate independently for a 45-minute rehearsal with other children and one teacher.
- Use the bathroom on your own without assistance. (Please try to go before rehearsal begins!)

To support student success, we use Tier 1 strategies such as: (1) Clear Expectations, (2) Explicit Instruction, (3) Positive Reinforcement, (4) Positive Culture, (5) Visual Supports, (6) Movement Breaks, and (7) Consistent Routines.
