What if I don't have any choral experience?
Like all South Shore Children's Chorus choral experiences, Encore is audition-free. No choral experience is necessary to participate. However, to make your first choral experiences feel successful, we highly recommend reaching out to our staff for an intro zoom meeting so that we can help you get started with the practice tracks provided!
Should I sign up if I can't commit to all of the rehearsal times?
Encore is a limited amount of rehearsal time for singers, and the community building meals and experiences are important to our mission. We do ask that participants of Encore commit fully to the schedule of the weekend and make the necessary adjustments to their schedules.
What kind of music will we sing?
The music we will sing at Encore will vary in genre and style from classical choral, folk, pop a capella, and more. It will be eclectic and interesting!

What if I can't afford the tuition?
SSCC is passionate about offering our experience to anyone, regardless of ability to pay. SSCC has two options for those who may not be able to afford the program. Because the program does raise money for our student scholarships, SSCC is offering creative ways for participants to contribute to raising money outside of paying tuition.

Option 1: Tuition Assistance: Choose a monetary tuition price that works for you. Participant is responsible for raising the remaining funds through ticket sales and program ads to equal the base tuition price of $375.

Option 2: Student Work-Study: Available for current college students - a low tuition amount of $150. The student must additionally raise $175 in ticket sales or program ads, and must assist with tasks in preparation for or during the weekend, which could be singing in an outside sectional, sorting music, setting up, breaking down, etc.
